Ali Harmer MA Ed(Early Years Music) has 18 years experience working musically with very young people. She researches joint attention in musical interactions and has a special interest in musical play and musical environments.

Playing Around Sound is a research project initiated by Ali and Ceilidh. Ali is a core member of the charity Gloucestershire Music Makers and Ceilidh is one of the charity’s music leaders. The project is funded by Youth Music with additional funding from Make Music Gloucestershire, the County’s Music Hub.

aims to develop high quality music repertoire within a fun and active music session specially tailored for children with additional needs. The thinking underpinning these sessions is based in current research into joint attention, mouth placement and gesture.
